On the occasion of this year’s International Archives Day, the Historical Archives of the European Union has produced a video about our work and the importance of preserving documents for the next generations.
International Archives Day, every year on June 9, gives us a chance to celebrate the work of archivists everywhere and to remember the value of archives.
This year Archives Day also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the formation of the International Council of Archives. The ICA has launched a virtual exhibition “70 years of international influence” to celebrate this occasion.
EU Institutional archives, such as the Historical Archives of the European Commission are also launching activities on Archives Day. To see how International Archives Day is being celebrated worldwide, follow the hashtag #IAD18 on Twitter.
The HAEU is also participating in the International Archives Day conference on 9 June organized by the Florence State Archives entitled: “Le cento strade degli archivi”.
