Women that made Europe - Online exhibition of the Jacques Delors Institute

Posted on 10 March 2020

At the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Jacques Delors Institute launched an online exhibition that highlights the role of women in the European integration process. The exhibition sheds light on women that are far less studied than the "founding fathers" of European integration and who made an outstanding contribution through their work in the European Commission, in the European Parliament and other European institutions. The exhibition also points out to women activists who fought for their rights before the Court of Justice of the European Union or did important lobby work through various associations.

The exhibition, available both in French and English language, is based, among others, on archival material preserved at the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence.
