ZOTERO, a Free and Open Source Software to Collect, Manage, Cite, and Share Research Sources

Posted on 13 October 2010

ZOTERO, is a free and open source software which organizes all web information through your browser and keeps track of web pages and multi-media documents, PDFs and bibliographical information. ZOTERO [zoh-TAIR-oh] is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, cite, and share your research sources. It lives right where you do your work, in the web browser itself.

ZOTERO creates your own individual library and research database not only on your computer but also in all computers you are using.  Syncing your ZOTERO library within any computer you have access to is easy thanks to a copy saved at George Mason University in Virginia, USA where ZOTERO has been produced at the Center for History and New Media (CHNM). You can also share ZOTERO individual libraries for common research projects and teaching activities.

ZOTERO introductory course (second session) is offered to all interested EUI members in the Atelier Multimédia:

  • on Wednesday the 20 October, 3-5 p.m., in the Sala Triaria, Villa Schifanoia

Please register: serge.noiret@eui.eu

It is also suggested that you'll bring your personal laptop to the course.

You should also have installed before coming:
