New partner: Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade

Posted on 21 May 2020

The European University Institute has teamed up with the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade in a new memorandum of understanding, signed by the two institutions this spring.

KIET is a government-funded economic think tank, providing information and consultation on industrial and trade policies of the Korean government as well as private sector businesses.

The EUI and KIET aim at exchanging economic and industrial information, setting up joint research projects, seminars and executive education. Staff exchanges and internships are also part of the new partnership.

The new partnership was formed as experts from KIET and the EUI’s Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies were involved in the set-up of a knowledge platform on rules of origin with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
