  • Have practiced using a range of rhetorical and linguistic tools to make your presentation better, such as storytelling, argument and signposting phrases.
  • Have developed your confidence as a presenter.

Content

  • In the first session, we will practice and discuss stance, gesture, voice, and other essential skills for presenting your work in person.
  • The group will reconvene after an interval of two weeks. In this second meeting, participants will put into practice the principles discussed in the first.
  • You will be requested to prepare a short practice presentation to use during the second session.
  • This workshop will give you an opportunity to practise the skills necessary for presenting in a safe environment, and to engage in feedback conversations with peers (both giving and receiving feedback) and communication specialists.

Learning methods and activities

  • Participants will be active throughout the two sessions. In the first session, there will be exercises in key areas. In the second session, participants will hold their own practice presentation. The instructors will act as guide on the side, and provide practice materials.
