Easter Break

The Institute will be closed for the Easter Break from Thursday 24th March to Tuesday 29th March inclusive.

During the closure EUI members will be able to access all EUI buildings (including the internal car parks) with the sole exception of Villa la Fonte, where refurbishment works are scheduled to be carried out.

Access to buildings will be possible using your EUI ID card and is in any case at your own responsibility.

Please take note of the following:

  1. doors are alarmed;
  2. doors fitted with access control have no handles and can therefore be opened only by swiping your EUI ID card in the reader when entering or leaving through these access points;
  3. anti-panic doors are alarmed and therefore, to avoid sounding the alarm, you must swipe your EUI ID card in the reader when entering or leaving through these access points.
  4. Off-hours access might differ from daytime/opening hours ; detailed maps with highlighted access points are available at the following links:

Access to the Badia Fiesolana (see above) will be possible via the pedestrian entrance in the Church square, via Villa Sanfelice, via the pedestrian gate of the connecting road between Villa Schifanoia and the Badia, and via the gate of the Badia Fiesolana car park.

Researchers can access the working spaces in the upper cloister of the Badia Fiesolana, and the bathrooms and vending machines in the bank corridor are open for use; please note that cleaning services are operational only in these areas.  

The multi-function printers in the Upper Cloister and Bank Corridor are monitored remotely and the technician is authorized to intervene in case of blocking issues.

The ICT Service would like to inform users that during the closure all systems relating to the web, internet, VPN and home directories will be monitored. The webmail service will be always reachable from this link  http://portal.office365.com

Tickets opened on the EUI Helpdesk  will not be addressed during the closure, they will be assigned and processed only on the reopening of the Institute (30th March 2016).

Concerning safety and security matters, security personnel are present in the control room at the Badia Fiesolana 24/7 and can be reached for any emergencies on the internal extension 2999, via the external number 055 4685-999  or by email to eui.control.room@eui.eu.

They are responsible for contacting relevant  technical assistance or EUI staff for any action that is deemed necessary.
