Refurbishment Works going on in Villa Salviati

In the framework of the completion of renovation works in Villa Salviati,  a number of extensive refurbishment activities are scheduled to be carried out starting 24 September: these works have been planned, whenever and wherever possible, taking into account the academic activity of the building and the needs of EUI users.

Please find here below the calendar of activities with relevant details :

SEPTEMBER

Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 September:

  • Installation of glass doors to separate the Gallery from the main staircase and the common room. The Sala degli Stemmi has been appropriately equipped to provide a valid alternative to researchers wishing to use working spaces in these 2 days.

  Starting Monday 24 September for 2-3 days:

  • Restoration of the “Grottone” gate;
  • Removal of the shutter in the Sala del Consiglio;
  • Removal of the top and bottom doors of the staircase leading to the Canteen and of the door of the canteen store room;
  • Removal of the external door in the basement (Via Salviati side);
  • Removal of the door in the common room opening to the staircase taking to the second floor;
  • Removal of the access door to the attic walkway from the service staircase;

 Starting Saturday 29 September for approximately 2 weeks (coordinated by the Front Desk)

  •  Restoration of the courtyard gate on Via Salviati side;

 OCTOBER - NOVEMBER

 From 1 to 21 October:

  • Removal of the floor platform on the attic floor;
  • Restoration of  the HAEU reception front door;  
  • Restoration of the HAEU reception side door;
  • Iron gate Salviati Reception (CASTLE);

 From 22 October to 11 November:

  • Restoration of  the HAEU greenhouse front door;  
  • Restoration of the HAEU Hallstein Room door;

From 22 October to 16 November:

  • Restoration of the suspended ceiling in the Sala del Camino closet.
