Turning engagement into collaboration
Europe’s complex challenges offer an opportunity to bring academia and society closer together. Through sustained collaboration, researchers, students, policymakers, practitioners, artists and civic actors shape questions, test solutions and create new knowledge.
At the European University Institute (EUI), co-creation is central to engagement. Through six strategic initiatives, the Institute connects academic research with policy, institutions and society, fostering experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration and collective learning.
From experimentation to lasting change
The six EUI strategic initiatives will create reflective and agile spaces in which collaboration can flourish, new approaches can be tested and lessons can be shared. The ambition is to move beyond one-off exchanges and isolated pilot projects. By connecting academic excellence with the experience and expertise of those beyond academia, the EUI seeks to strengthen the contribution of research to Europe’s future and transform how knowledge is created, applied and shared.
