Navigating through copyright and Creative Commons licenses, this session will provide an overview of the Creative Commons licenses available to researchers for publishing their works. We will discuss practical and legal considerations comparing with standard copyright licensing with publishers and consider the separate needs of book and article publications. In addition, during this session participants will get an overview of their rights as authors and how to reinforce them in a publishing agreement. Participants will also get the chance to discuss questions they might have with regard to the management of their intellectual property rights pre- and post-publication.
