16:00 - 17:30 CEST

This event will launch the REDemocracIA Network that will serve as a dynamic forum for the debate, identification, and development of good practices for AI governance in Ibero-American countries.

The Ibero-American Network for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (REDemocracIA) seeks to promote the advanced study of the challenges and opportunities that AI presents for democracy and its possible reconfiguration in times of increasing hyper-connectivity. REDemocracIA will serve as a meeting point between governments, regulators, academics, judges, civil society, companies, and other actors to share experiences and policies on AI and digitalisation, helping to identify critical problems and enabling the transatlantic exchange of different digitalisation strategies carried out in Ibero-American countries.

The main objective of this first meeting is to present the new network and to make a Call for Expressions of Interest from entities and individuals interested in joining this initiative.

The discussion will be structured as follows:

  • Welcome: Marta Cantero (STG & University of Tartu) & Alex Stubb (STG)
  • Carme Artigas (Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, Government of Spain)
  • Daniel Innerarity (STG & Globernance)
  • Elaine Ford (Democracia Digital)
  • Luis Babino (Fundación CIGOB · Ibero-American Center for Governance, Policy and Public Administration)

The event will take place in English and Spanish (simultaneous translation will be provided).

To participate, please register.

For any further information about the initiative, please contact Marta Cantero Gamito ([email protected]) and Lucia Bosoer ([email protected]).
