The EUI Intellectual History Working Group hosts its 4th Annual Graduate Conference. This year, the conference will be centred around the theme of 'Global Ideas.'

Like other subfields of the historical discipline, intellectual history has long been constrained by national and geographic boundaries. Meanwhile, the production, circulation, and evolution of ideas never observed these boundaries. Recent years have witnessed mounting criticisms of global approaches in history and political theory. And yet, with planetary crises mounting, the need to explain the world in global terms appears more urgent than ever. Intellectual history, with its potential to critically examine our current and past ways of thinking, may offer pivotal insights into these global problems. The conference will aim to address these concerns and rethink how global approaches in the study of ideas can foster critical research and cross-cultural dialogue.
