The presentation by Mateusz Grochowski will provide a critical reappraisal of the ‘digital vulnerability’ concept, which over the past years has become one of the most prominent ideas in the EU consumer and digital market law. Starting from its intellectual genealogy and its place within the political/economic EU imaginary, the analysis will compare digital vulnerability against other ways of defining vulnerable consumers and connecting it with privacy, freedom of expression, and other domains. This analysis will shed light on the potential shortcomings of digital vulnerability, due to its uncontrollable expansion. This research will then be discussed with:Hans Micklitz | European University InstituteCamilla Signoretta | Scuola Superiore Sant'AnnaFederico Galli | University of Bologna Partners
