To mark its 50th anniversary, the Law Department brings together past and present members of its community for two days of conversations, memories and encounters at Villa Salviati.

The conference will open with a welcome by Nicolas Petit, Head of the EUI Law Department, and Arnulf Becker Lorca, scientific organiser of the event, who will introduce the programme and the ideas behind the two-day celebration. Please note that this event is reserved for members of the EUI Law community and attendance is by invitation only.

Thursday 17 September – Thinking Europe and the International at the EUI

The first day revisits key strands of the Department's intellectual history through conversations with former and current members of the EUI Law community:

Friday 18 September – Living Through Encounters and Research

The second day will open with welcome remarks by EUI President Patrizia Nanz, before turning to life at the Department across generations and the evolution of different areas of legal scholarship:

Throughout both afternoons, a treasure hunt across Villa Salviati will take participants through the Department's history, with sessions dedicated to PhD dissertations and books produced by researchers and professors, as well as dedicated Academy of European Law and Alumni booths.
