The informal PSC breakfast was co‑organised by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU, EU Security Initiative (EUSI), a joint project of the European University Institute (EUI), and Łukasiewicz – ITECH, which aims to foster structured, practice‑oriented debates on European security and defence. During the discussion, Benedetta Berti (NATO Parliamentary Assembly), Maciej Stadejek (EEAS), Thorsten Ites (EUMC) and Marek Świerczyński (Polityka Insight) reflected on the key outcomes of the Ankara summit and their implications for Europe’s security. The speakers looked at where the Union can add genuine value – from capability development and defence industrial cooperation to readiness, art. 42.7, resilience and support for the allies most exposed to Russian pressure – and how to avoid duplication with NATO.
