The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2023. In its five decades of activity, the organisation has grown to include more than 90 national trade union confederations from more than 40 countries. ETUC’s audiovisual archives, comprised of more than 5500 audiovisual items, was transferred to the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in 2022, and made available for consultation in 2023.

The new online exhibition explores pivotal moments in ETUC's history, shedding light on its crucial role in defending and improving working conditions, social rights, solidarity, and protection for European workers. It collects visual testimonies capturing significant events from ETUC's history, including demonstrations, congresses, conferences, official visits, and meetings spanning the period around 1979 to 2009.
