Maixent, a consultant at Deloitte Climate and Sustainability (DCS), and Jerome, an analyst at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) centre in Rome, are leveraging their shared academic foundation to drive innovative, transnational initiatives.

This partnership exemplifies how academic insights can be translated into real-world action through collaboration between private sector expertise and international development organisations. Their joint efforts focus on advisory and implementation activities that support sustainable infrastructure and public finance projects in Africa, aligning with broader goals of climate resilience and sustainable development.

Operating within a framework that emphasises rigorous project identification, financial advisory, and strategic funding, including sustainable finance instruments, this collaboration harnesses the strengths of both organisations. Deloitte's deep advisory capabilities complement UNDP's global development mandate, enabling the design and delivery of solutions that are both financially sound and socially impactful.

Their work illustrates the power of cross-sector partnerships in addressing complex global challenges. The academic training they received at the European University Institute, particularly through the Master in Transnational Governance of the Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG), equipped them with a deep understanding of multi-level policy frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative governance. This foundation has been instrumental in shaping their ability to navigate and implement complex, transnational projects effectively.

By applying the theory and skills gained at the EUI, Maixent and Jerome are not only advancing sustainable development goals but also exemplifying how academic excellence can translate into meaningful, practical impact on the ground.
