The Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) is now taking applications for the European Space Agency (ESA) Post-doctoral Research Grant. Postgraduate students in history and the social sciences, as well as early career academics, are invited to apply.

The ESA grant is meant to increase knowledge about the origins of the European Space Agency, the development of European space research, and the evolution of Europe’s activities in space. In 2024, the funders are especially keen to support projects that examine how the ESA came into being, from historical and/or organizational points of view.

The ESA Grant was created thanks to an agreement between the ESA and the European University Institute, and provides for up to two fellowships of €5000 each to support archival research on the ESA at the HAEU.

For complete information on eligibility requirements, how to apply, and the conditions of the grant, please consult the ESA Post-graduate Research Grant web page.

The deadline to apply for the ESA grant is 31 May 2024.
