Call for papers: The political economy of polarisation and policymaking

The two-day interdisciplinary workshop, organised around the theme of "The Political Economy of Polarisation and Policymaking", will take place at the EUI on 15 - 16 May 2023.

This two-day workshop, hosted by the Max Weber Programme, aims to encourage participation from a cross-section of political economy researchers and the wider EUI community.

The event will feature the participation of Professor Stephane Wolton (London School of Economics and Political Science) and Professor Massimo Morelli (Bocconi University), who will deliver two keynote presentations as part of the programme.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Populism and electoral politics
  • Collective action and voting
  • Behavioural political economy
  • Partisanship and public policy

Submissions from junior-level researchers (graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early career Professors) are welcomed.

Please submit proposals via this form by 1 March 2023.  Abstracts are acceptable at this stage, with full drafts expected prior to the workshop.
