The 2024 call for applications for the research grant programme of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) in the European Parliament (EPP Group) is now open at the Historical Archives of the European Union.

The grant programme aims to support scholars interested in conducting and publishing academic research on the history, role and impact of Christian Democracy, and in particular of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, in the process of European integration.

The grant is aimed at early stage academics, including masters and doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who completed their doctorate degree no more than three years prior to the date of submission of the application.

Successful applicants will receive a research grant of €5000 to cover expenses for carrying out research in the EPP Group’s Archives in Florence, Brussels and/or Bonn. The research project must result in the publication of an academic article or monograph based on the research. The grant is paid in two instalments, with the second payment contingent upon publication of the research. Up to three grants will be awarded in 2024.
