Juho Härkönen in EC advisory group on democracy and demography

Juho Härkönen, Professor of Sociology in the SPS Department, is part of a group of European experts in demography who meet regularly with the Vice President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography, Ms Dubravka Šuica.

The group discusses pertinent issues related to demographic challenges and opportunities in Europe, as well as the demographic dimensions of the COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent recovery process.

The discussions are likewise aimed at feeding ideas and themes into the Commission's newly established internal demography networks, conceived to support the work of the Vice President.
