Leonardo Melosi took up a full-time position as Professor of Economics at the EUI Department of Economics on 1 June 2025.
Melosi is also a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Before joining the EUI, he was Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick. Previously, Melosi held key roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, including Senior Economist, Economic Advisor, and Executive Director of the Center for Applied Macroeconomic Research within the Economic Research Department.
His extensive research interests span several key areas, including macroeconomics, monetary policy, fiscal policy, applied econometrics, quantitative macroeconomics, international economics, prices and inflation, and European macroeconomic issues.
