Mena Luesse defended her thesis Gender segregation in the labour market. Could the stall come to an end? on 17 December. The dissertation examines gender segregation in the labour market and asks whether labour shortages are associated with a reduction in segregation and occupational closure. It also investigates the intergenerational sources of gender segregation, exploring whether segregation is higher when occupational groups are more strongly reproduced from fathers to sons and mothers to daughters.
