The EUI partners with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

The European University Institute has signed a new partnership agreement with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), supporting the EUI’s engagement with academia in China.

The partnership between the EUI and GDUFS aims to facilitate collaboration in the fields of higher education and research, including joint educational offers, benefitting faculty, students, researchers, and staff in both institutions.

Under the newly signed agreement, the GDUFS' School of International Governance Innovation (SIGI) will support the EUI School of Transnational Governance (STG) in the recruitment of Chinese students for the Master in Transnational Governance (MTnG) at the EUI. To this end, during the academic year 2023-2024, three Chinese students from Guangdong University will join the MTnG in September 2023.

The partnership will also foresee the development of a joint work plan for the recruitment of Chinese participants to take part in the recently launched EUI Global Executive Master (GEM)

The partnership between the EUI and GDUFS also aims to promote the participation of Chinese local government officials and employees of enterprises and institutions in the STG Executive Education training courses, as well as the development of tailored executive education trainings.

Established in 1964, GDUFS is a key university affiliated to Guangdong Province with distinctive international characteristics, and an important base for international talent training and foreign language and culture, foreign economic and trade, and international strategic research in South China.
