Building on an existing joint initiative, the two institutions have signed a five-year partnership aimed at promoting an academic exchange programme for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers and academic staff. Up to two PhD researchers, post-doctoral researchers, or academic staff from the EUI, and up to two PhD researchers or post-doctoral researchers from the Max Planck Law’s Institutes will have the opportunity to participate in this mobility programme. Visiting fellows will also have the chance to spend a maximum of four months at the corresponding host institution.
Additionally, the EUI and Max Planck Law will promote the production and dissemination of joint workshops, conferences, research collaborative projects, and academic and scientific events. Both institutions will also encourage the exchange of publications, as well as scientific and teaching material. The EUI is very keen of this partnership that complements similar cooperations established with various institutes of the Max Planck Society.
Established in 2019, Max Planck Law is a network of nine Max Planck Institutes engaging in legal research. Max Planck Law aims to deepen the cooperation between the participating Institutes, raise their international visibility, and strengthen the cross-institute support of early-career researchers. The institution is committed to the mission of pushing the frontiers of legal knowledge, and focusing on comparative and transnational research questions with an intra- and inter-disciplinary approach.
Any further information on this partnership may be obtained from the EUI External Relations Office.
