Biography

Emma Lees is Professor at the School of Transnational Governance and and Academic Director of the STG Master of Arts in Transnational Governance.

Emma Lees is Reader in Environmental and Property Law at the University of Cambridge and
Peter Wilson Fellow at Fitzwilliam College. She completed her PhD in Cambridge in 2013 and
has an LLM from the University of Dundee and a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of
Oxford.

She has been Director of the Environmental Policy MPhil at the University of Cambridge, and
has extensive teaching and supervision experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Her research focuses on environmental and land law broadly defined. In particular, her environmental law research focuses on the role of courts in adjudicating on environmental law issues, and on the national and European rules shaping this judicial role.

She has published widely, including a recent monograph, Environmental Adjudication, with Hart Publishing (with O W Pedersen) and a sole-authored land law textbook, The Principles of Land Law with OUP.
