Matteo Mazzarano is a part-time researcher at the Florence School of Regulation of Climate and an assistant professor at the Department of International and Political Sciences of the University of Siena, where he teaches Economic Policy. He is affiliated with the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change and a member of EAERE (European Association of Environmental and Resource Economics) and IAERE (Italian Association of Environmental and Resource Economists).Given his consolidated experience in applied environmental economics, data analysis and financial economics, he is a member of the team managing the Life COASE Project, where he matches the European Emission Trading Systems accounts and financial accounts. Furthermore, he aids the team of the Horizon Capable project in converging research issues. He investigated climate finance as a postdoc at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and was affiliated with the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. In 2021, he obtained the PhD at the University of Ferrara, where he received the Doctor Europeus prize. Previously, he visited the Catholic University of Leuven and the Universität Bodenkultur of Vienna as a lecturer and researcher. He has published academic articles in journals such as Resources Policy, Journal of Cleaner Production and Ecological Economics.
