Biography

Anna Ragnarsdóttir is a climate policy specialist with diverse experience, reaching from domestic policymaking to international cooperation through the European Union, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and other cooperative entities. She holds a master’s in Environment and natural resources from the University of Iceland and works at the Ministry for Environment, Energy and Climate.

Anna has taken on various climate issues mostly regarding the mitigation of climate change as the leading expert of Iceland's climate action plan. Other issues include legislation on climate neutrality, climate evaluation of legislation and engaging business sectors in mitigation of climate change. Anna played a leading role in the establishment of the Icelandic Climate Council.

As a Policy Leader Fellow, she will examine the outputs of the Global Stocktake and Mitigation Work programme of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, taking experience from the Icelandic context.
