Biography
Francesco Drago joined the Institute in September 2025, taking leave from his position as Professor of Economics at the University of Catania. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and the Centre for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF) in Naples. He has taught courses in labor economics, behavioral economics, and the economics of crime at Sciences Po, the University of Paris Nanterre, the University of Geneva, and Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank and has been a visiting scholar at University College London, Columbia University, Harvard University, and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). His research interests include the economics of crime, political economy, policy evaluation, and economic history. His publications include articles in the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.
