Biography

Chair in European History, 19th and early 20th centuries

M’hamed Oualdi is a historian of Europe and North Africa in the world in the long 19th century. Prior to joining the EUI, he was full professor at Sciences Po-Paris, assistant ant then associate professor at Princeton University (2013-2019) and maître de conferences at Inalco-Paris (2010-2013). He is currently supervising an ERC research project about the demise of slavery in the Mediterranean from the mid-18th century to the 1930s
