Mohamed Fofana is a career diplomat with over a decade of service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Guinea. He currently serves as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Guinea to the United Nations Office in Geneva, where he oversees the Human Rights (HR) portfolio. He actively participates in international HR discussions, coordinates Guinea’s Universal Periodic Review participation, and liaises with HR bodies. Fofana’s career includes roles in Geneva, New York and within Guinea’s MFA, enhancing his expertise in international law, multilateral diplomacy and negotiations. He holds a MA in Diplomacy and a BA in Political Science. He has attended numerous high-level diplomatic meetings globally and is fluent in French, English and Turkish.
