Umberto Marengo is a Strategy Manager at British International Investments, having previously worked for The Economist Group and Boston Consulting Group. He holds a Ph.D. in Politics and International Studies from the University of Cambridge. He is a development finance professional with wide academic interests including sustainable finance, impact investing and EU trade policy.At the Florence STG, he wants to explore how development finance institutions and private impact investors conceptualise “development impact” and “market creation”, and the ways in which those underpinnings translate into operational objectives and assessments. His goal is to support harmonisation between approaches used by public and private impact investors.
