Research project Life unworthy of living: disabled victims of the Holocaust in European memory politics Print Share on Facebook Share on X Share on LinkedIn Send by email This project has received funding via the EUI Research Council call 2023. This project addresses one of the underexplored aspects of the Holocaust: the extermination of disabled people. The research investigates the ways in which this legacy was instrumentalised in post-war European political and societal debates about the status of vulnerable citizens unable to work and their human rights, and debates about abortion, prenatal screening and euthanasia. Moreover, the research, which will be submitted for peer-reviewed publication, ponders the question how it would be possible to create a more inclusive memory culture.
