PEWG - Political Economy Working Group

The Political Economy Working Group (PEWG) at the EUI offers a regular forum for the discussion of research in political economy. It serves as a platform for researchers, faculty members, and fellows to exchange ideas and engage in critical dialogue on contemporary developments in the field.

PEWG sessions typically feature presentations of ongoing or recently published work by EUI members or invited external scholars. The group provides an opportunity not only to learn about current research but also to receive constructive feedback on your own work – whether completed or still in progress. Sessions are open to all EUI members and offer an informal and constructive setting for discussion.

The group covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to labour markets and welfare states, economic integration, institutional change, regime varieties, financial systems, trade relations, and central banking. We welcome work from both comparative and international political economy perspectives and encourage diverse methodological and theoretical approaches.

The PEWG meets approximately once a month, usually on Mondays from 17:00 to 18:30, except during holidays.
