Human Universal: Legal Imagination and the International World 1300-1870
Author Colloquium with Martti Koskenniemi
Professor Martti Koskenniemi, Academy Professor at the University of Helsinki, Director of the Erik Castrén Institute of International Law and Human Rights, and Centennial Professor at the London School of Economics, will meet with eleven leading scholars of international law, public law and of the history of ideas to discuss his current research and writing on the history of international legal thought at an 'Author’s Colloquium'. The Colloquium will be held at the EUI on 21-22 January 2014. His current project will examine the uses of the legal idiom in articulating and challenging the uses of power outside the domestic realm in the period from the late Middle Ages to the (late) 19th century.
