Can you squeeze your personality and best insight in 18 minutes?
You have little time to make a difference and cannot let the audience’s attention decay. It’s not the usual presentation. It has nothing to do with your thesis defence. It is supposed to be less technical, more appealing, and deeply featuring your personality. Most importantly: it can’t be improvised, even if you’re an accomplished public speaker or jazz musician.
How to nail it?
How do you pick “the” topic that defines who you are, and where you are able to make the most impact on the audience? This workshop is based on Andrea’s experience with preparing his first TED talk, scheduled for March 2020, and which he never delivered due to the COVID-19 pandemic (he ended up delivering it twice, in Spanish and English, in November-December 2021 in Buenos Aires and Leuven). After thousands of talks in more than two decades, what is the distinctive trait of a TED talk? And why? Interactive discussions with the participants will lead each of them to join a group work, and eventually shoot a video of their TED talks. A selection of talks will be presented during the last module of the workshop.
