European Economic Association - Job Market for Economists

This website offers structured information on available jobs and candidates in the international market for research economists. It hopes to make this market more efficient by lowering the costs of creating a match. The typical job will be as a university professor or as an economist in a research department of a bank, financial or consulting firm, governmental institution or NGO. Institutions can list their job openings after registering. Candidates looking for a job can register and list their characteristics and contact details, as well as upload CVs and job market papers. A search engine helps to find what is available on the other side of the market. 

Inomics

Inomics is a platform to announce job openings for economists, to search for them, and to get an email notification whenever a new opening meeting one's interests arrives. Inomics is neither limited to a certain subject or geographical area nor to certain position levels.

JOE - Job Openings for Economists

JOE is a service of the American Economic Association. Jobs are posted for economists both in the US and abroad. 

UK JOE

This is the Royal Economics Society’s version of JOE. UK-JOE is a web site for the announcement of job opportunities for economists in the UK. The service is offered by the Royal Economic Society in response to requests from members. This service is free and anyone can browse the database for opportunities of their interest. Job opportunities may also be announced for free. All universities, research institutions, government bodies and companies may use the simple web interface to post job opportunities.

H-Net Job Guide

The H-Net Job Guide posts academic position announcements in History and the Humanities, the Social Sciences, and Rhetoric and Composition, and serves a broad audience of administrators, faculty members, archivists, librarians, and other professionals in the humanities and social sciences. The Job Guide is fully sortable and searchable, and is available via email and the web.

H-Soz-u-Kult (Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte)

H-Soz-u-Kult posts professional communications and job vacancies for historians with a special focus on the German-speaking world.

APSA - American Political Science Organization

This is the ASPA's job site with postings for political scientists. The postings mainly cover the US market, but also include Europe and beyond. 

ECPR - European Consortium for Political Research

The ECPR exchange is a centralised database where one can submit and search information on jobs, calls for papers, MA/PhD programmes, conference  announcements, new books and research funding. 

ISA - International Sociological Organisation

ISA has a special site for job openings in a variety of countries.

 

Other Disciplines

Next Wave – Science Careers

Next wave is targeted at the hard sciences, but some of the job information provided may also be of interest for the Social Sciences. Next Wave has a very well structured site for postdoctoral fellowships.

European Science Foundation

The European Science Foundation (ESF) is an association of 75 member organisations devoted to scientific research in 30 European countries. The ESF funds various activities for promoting european science.
