Precautions During Office 365 Upgrade

If you happen to be using your email at the time of the Office 365 upgrade, you may experience one of the following scenarios (1).

Microsoft Outlook

If you are using Microsoft Outlook when your account is upgraded, you may see a dialog box like the one below. Quit Outlook and start it again after 10-15 minutes. If you are composing a draft when the alert appears, you may not be allowed to save it. Copy the message and save it in another application if you don't want to have to re-type it later.

If you are sending a message when you get the Outlook pop-up you may have to click in another pop-up to close the message without sending.

Outlook Web Access (WebMail)

When your account is upgraded, you may have to sign out of your account and sign back in later (10-15 minutes). The address you use to connect to WebMail will not change:

After the service upgrade, you may experience a brief delay the next time you log in.

If this status page never goes away: You may be using an unsupported browser (see Supported browsers for Outlook Web App). If you are using an older browser and cannot upgrade, you may be able to fix this by logging in on another machine and setting your account to use the "Light" version of the Web App.
