Among the many facets of this transformation, the shadow banking system emerged as a focal point of attention. More recently, however, rising interest rates also shifted attention back to the traditional banking system where a number of high-profile bank failures have occurred in recent years. This workshop brings together a group of scholars who attempt to study aspects of the evolution and transformation of conventional and shadow banking since the GFC. The workshop aims to dissect the complex forms of interplay between the conventional and shadow banking as well as some important ways in which these remained steady and transformed. In order to accomplish this task, the workshop features a balance between more conceptually oriented pieces and those that are more empirically-minded.
