EIP is intended as a hub in which to cultivate a meaningful synergy between the scientific study of emotions and the realms of policymaking, activism and political theory. Indeed, at our time of "visceral politics" - as per the coinage of psychologist Manos Tsakiris - it is becoming urgent to understand the nature of the political animal that we are, and to take on board the abundant research on emotions produced within psychology and affective neuroscience. This will be an occasion to discuss how these fields can fertilize each other and how the EIP hub could provide input in the development of the Democratic Odyssey. This event takes place as part of the STG Research Seminar series and Transnational Democracy Cluster. The event will take place in hybrid format at the STG premises in Palazzo Buontalenti. All are welcome to attend. Please register, indicating whether you intend to attend online or in person.
