Bridging cutting-edge research with real-world policy challenges

The Banque de France (BdF) and the European University Institute (EUI) are organising their annual joint conference in Paris on 28 November 2025.

Federica Romei (University of Oxford and CEPR) will deliver the keynote address. The conference will explore a wide range of themes linked to emerging directions in academic research and their policy relevance.

Topics will include, among others:

  • the impact of tariffs on global trade and growth
  • monetary policy in a fragmenting global economy
  • the future of US dollar dominance: challenges and opportunities
  • geopolitical risks and their impact on international finance
  • challenges for emerging markets amid shifting international dynamics
  • macroeconomic dimensions of economic security
  • fiscal imbalances and global inflation

The event is hosted by the Banque de France and co-sponsored by the Pierre Werner Chair at the EUI and the Banque de France.
