The Historical Archives of the European Union is now taking applications for the European Space Agency (ESA) Post-doctoral Research Grant.
Postgraduate researchers in history and the social sciences, as well as early career academics, are invited to apply for support carrying out archival research on the European Space Agency and its predecessor organisations the European Launcher Development Organisation (ELDO) and the European Space Research Organisation (ESRO), at the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence, Italy.
In 2023, proposals focusing on the 1975 Convention establishing ESA, or on the drafting period leading up to the creation of the ESA using documents from the fonds in deposit at HAEU (e.g; ESC), are especially encouraged.
The ESA Post-graduate Research Grant was created thanks to an agreement between the ESA and the EUI. Two fellowships of €5000 each will be available in 2023, and selected candidates will be affiliated with the EUI during their research visit in Florence.
The deadline for applications is 30 June 2023. For complete information on eligibility requirements, how to apply, and the conditions of the grant, please consult the ESA Post-graduate Research Grant web page.
