Experienced diplomat Miroslav Lajčák joins the STG

The STG welcomes the experienced diplomat and politician Miroslav Lajčák as Adjunct-Professor. The former Slovak Foreign Minister and current EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues will work on foreign and security policy.

Miroslav Lajčák’s career in international diplomacy, politics and policy-making spans several decades. Lajčák is the latest addition to the School of Transnational Governance’s (STG) multidisciplinary faculty, which comprises of professors with a mix of academic and executive experience in policy-making beyond borders.

Prof Dr Miroslav Lajčák is looking forward to working with master students: “European foreign and security policy are key study fields for tomorrow’s policy-makers. I look forward to share my insights and look at issues on the policy agenda together with the students at the School of Transnational Governance.”

Lajčák and STG executive director Dr Fabrizio Tassinari will co-convene a course on “European foreign and security policy in a post-Western world”. The course is part of the master’s specialization track on peace and security.

“The course will provide students a unique window on topical case studies based on Miroslav’s long career, as well as that of guest lectures from top European foreign policy practitioners from Helga Schmidt to Sir Robert Cooper,” said Fabrizio Tassinari
