EUI-EIGE partnership agreement

The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is an autonomous body of the European Union, established to contribute to and strengthen the promotion of gender equality. Its mission includes gender mainstreaming in all EU policies and resulting national policies, and the fight against discrimination based on sex. EIGE is the only EU agency focusing solely on gender equality.

The EUI and the EIGE will collaborate in areas of common interest, focusing specifically on women’s rights, gender equality, and balanced participation by women and men in society.

Under the partnership, both parties will collaborate on research initiatives, events, and training activities. The organisations will also promote gender-related staff and study visits for EUI researchers, post-doc fellows and Master’s students in the EUI’s School of Transnational Governance.

EUI President Renaud Dehousse and EIGE Director Carlien Scheele officialised the new partnership in a virtual signing ceremony on 23 April 2021.
