The Lights on Women Initiative highlights women’s green transition on stage

For the first time at the EUI, a dedicated event celebrated the achievements of female professionals in energy, climate, and sustainability sectors, shedding light on women's relevant efforts to push the green transition in Europe and Africa forward.

On 16 May 2023, the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) held the first LUCE Awards ceremony, as part of the Lights on Women initiative. This first edition awarded Clara Poletti in the 'Legacy Women category', that honours senior female professionals working to further the green transition worldwide, and Onyinye Anene-Nzelu in the 'Emerging Talent category', dedicated to young female academics, entrepreneurs, and young leaders of civil society who are working to advance green transition agendas.

The event also included a panel debate titled 'Energy transition and sustainable development – leaving no woman behind?' to tackle how the ongoing energy transition can contribute to gender equality. Read more.
