Biography

Mirko Đuković is a CIVICA post-doctoral fellow at the EUI Department of Law. He graduated law at the University of Montenegro. He holds LL.M. in European Integration Law from University of Belgrade and LL.M. in International Economic and Business Law from Kyushu University.

His is due to defend his PhD thesis “Regulating Biomedicine: The Case of Human Tissues Bioprinting at the Central European University. In his university career in Montenegro, Hungary, Austria and China he held teaching positions in EU law, Human rights and non-discrimination law, Legal and political systems, Law and public policy, Introduction to the protection of human rights, International and European Law. He was a visiting researcher at the CEU Center for Ethics and Law in Biomedicine (CELAB), the University of Oxford Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technologies (HeLEX), University of Bologna and NOVA University Lisbon.

Under Max Planck Fellowship, he was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. He served as an external consultant/expert for the EU Delegation to Montenegro and European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) program.

He was a national consultant for the Council of Europe on the Promotion of Diversity and Equality in Montenegro project. He was also a co-investigator for the World Health Organization project Development of a Tripartite One Health Assessment Tool for AMR-relevant Legislation (research led by Dr. Phoebe Li, Sussex Law School).

As a national expert, he contributed to the project Countering Distortion of the Genocide of the Roma in Southeastern Europe organized by the Auschwitz Institute and François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights – Harvard University.

Mirko is a recipient of the National Excellence Award of the Government of Montenegro, the Young Scholar Award of the Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts as well as 2020 CEU Presidential Scholar Award. He is a co-chair of the Young Scholars Interest Group of the European Association of Health Law.
