The European University Institute (EUI) is an intergovernmental organisation. As such, it is created and regulated by an international treaty – the Convention Setting up the EUI – signed by its Contracting States. It is not regulated by any national regulation.

The EUI Administration strives to provide effective and efficient support services that are tailored to the needs of the academic community and that contribute constructively to the implementation of the Institute's strategy.
