The Historical Archives of the European Union on Social Media

Posted on 27 June 2016

The Historical Archives of the European Union has recently joined Facebook. The social media outlet, alongside the HAEU’s Twitter account, allows the HAEU to widen its online presence and to help grow the public’s awareness about the historical archives of European Union Institutions, Bodies and Agencies. The HAEU will share information, on both social media outlets, about relevant activities, conferences, research grant programmes and events at its premises at Villa Salviati.

In addition to social media accounts, the HAEU is also active on the social networking site LinkedIn which will effectively inform the public about the mission of the HAEU, news and job or traineeship opportunities.

The HAEU is also very active on the Flickr platform of the European University Institute, regularly sharing photographs of its events and numerous activities at Villa Salviati. It also runs its own online exhibition tool with a variety of exhibits of archival documents and images referring to subjects, such as the Schuman Declaration of 1950, the legacy of the EC programme Women of Europe, the Eastern Enlargements of 2004/07 and the history of scientific cooperation in Europe.

Finally, the HAEU also has its own information page on the Wikipedia platform in five languages.

Let’s stay in touch.
