About us

Who we are

Be they former researchers or fellows, the EUI welcomes the strong attachment our alumni feel toward the Institute, especially their willingness to continue to engage with it and be part of its life.

For the EUI, alumni represent a fundamental source of advice and political support, as well as a resource in curriculum development and a reference point for our researchers as they seek to build their own careers. Indeed, we want to keep in touch and continue interacting not only with researchers who have completed their Ph.D.s or LLMs, but also with those who have participated in our Max Weber, Jean Monnet, and Fernand Braudel Fellowship Programmes.

“You will probably never have a better time”: Cándido García Molyneux on his PhD

For Cándido García Molyneux, his career vision changed completely between the start and completion of his PhD. Reflecting on his time at the EUI (1994-1999), he recalls how critical thinking, multicultural exchanges and strong mentorship prepared him for a career in environmental law and policymaking.

Paul Csillag, EUI History PhD (2020-2024), looks back at his time at the EUI and how it enriched his understanding of the world and made him the historian he is today. He is now Justman Project Coordinator at the University of Innsbruck.

Lorenzo Diez Picazo is an alum of the Florence School of Transnational Governance. After finishing his traineeship at the European Investment Bank, he is now a Research Assistant at the Barcelona Center for European Studies.
