Do you have interview horror stories? Are you new to academic interviews and want to know what to expect? This workshop will delve into what you can expect on the academic job market and how to perform your best. Examples and experiences shared come from a variety of geographical contexts.

Managing Your Academic Identity Online

Do you know what comes up when your name is searched online? In this connected world, it is important to control and manage your online profile, particularly as you publish, look for work, and engage in public and academic activities. This workshop will look at ways to enhance your online profile through applications such as LinkedIn, Bluesky, Substack, and Google Scholar, as well as personal websites.

Please bring a device with you to access the internet and the various applications.

Creating Winning Presentations for Academic Job Competitions

Do you have questions about teaching talks or research presentations for job competitions? In this session, we will discuss best practices for the various types of presentations requested in job selection processes. If you have a presentation that you would like to polish, bring it with you.

Updating Your Curriculum Vitae and Crafting Compelling Cover Letters for Academic Jobs

Would you like to create or enhance your academic cv?

Do you struggle to promote yourself or synthesize your experience into a cover letter for job applications?
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to update and format your resumé for academic job applications and to look at examples of standout cover letters for academic jobs and craft your own.
Please bring the most recent version of your cv with you and/or the most recent version of a cover letter and an advertisement of a job you would like to apply to.

You should also bring a device to use to edit your cv/cover letter.
