The School of Transnational Governance hosts the High-Level Policy Dialogue "Inclusive Leadership: A Curriculum for Politicians", in the context of the project Inclusive Leadership for Sustainable Governance.

The STG initiative Inclusive Leadership for Sustainable Governance provides new instruments, in the form of peer-to-peer learning, ad-hoc training, policy advice and mentoring, to transform leadership, create inclusive party and government environments, and enhance equality in politics. Too often, mainstream male leaders committed to parity and diversity lack the abilities that are necessary to make them happen, or arguments and data to uphold vis-á-vis their peers and electorate. The Inclusive Leadership Initiative offers to political leaders the opportunity to develop skills and competences to achieve and promote a more inclusive leadership culture in the political sphere.

In this context, the policy dialogue Inclusive Leadership: A Curriculum for Politicians opens the opportunity to experts and politicians to debate the training modules proposed to enhance the skills and knowledge necessary to build an inclusive political leadership. Based on extensive research, fieldwork and a pilot run in 2021, the training curriculum of the Inclusive Leadership Initiative will be open for review.

The dialogue will also address institutional reforms which can be adopted to transform decision-making environments and make them more inclusive, such as conditionality in the legislation on public funding allocated to political parties and political foundations.

Organisers:

Costanza Hermanin | Project Leader | School of Transnational Governance

Chiara Fischetti, Carlotta Osti, Pelin Sezak, Costanza Bindi | Research Assistants

Please note the Policy Dialogue is upon invitation only. For more information, please contact research assistants Pelin Sezak ([email protected]) or Costanza Bindi ([email protected]).
